Recently the Kewanee Education Association traveled to Springfield to help set the legislative agenda for Illinois Educators. The annual meeting of the Illinois Education Association is an opportunity for district representatives from around the State of Illinois to have have a voice in setting policy priorities for the Illinois Education Association. Ruth Kapacinskas of the Kewanee Education Association joined Wake Up Tri-Counties recently to talk about the IEA Annual Meeting and the priorities set forth on behalf of Illinois educators.

This week, Sean and Russ Hughes catch up on Kewanee Track Results, Kewanee Baseball and Softball results, and Russ takes a few minutes to reflect on our recent Kewanee Back When look back at the 1971 Kewanee Boilermakers. Russ recalled not just the heroes of 1971 but also several other notable Kewanee sports heroes from the 90s and early 2000's Kewanee Boilermakers teams. 

If you enjoy using real eggs as Easter Eggs for an Easter Egg Hunt, the Henry and Stark County Health Department has a few tips for you to enjoy your eggs safely.  RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department gave us tips on Egg safety and talked about upcoming initiatives at the Health Department including national public health week, starting next week,  and an upcoming special on Lab Work through First Choice Healthcare Clinic. The Lab Work special is a way to encourage more people to get lab work done as part of preventative care. 

On Sunday, OSF Saint Luke Medical Center and OSF Saint Clare Medical Center began celebrating Doctors Week. All this week on social media and at each hospital, OSF Healthcare will be celebrating doctors. From your general surgeons to your family practice doctors to those who give their time to be a tele-hospitalist, this week is dedicated to those who have worked hard to become healers. Doctors Week at OSF Healthcare will celebrate all doctors and give you the chance to celebrate your favorite doc on social media. Keep an eye out for your doctor to be featured on OSF Saint Luke and OSF Saint Clare's social media.
