Cynthia Maxwell is the new Director of the Kewanee Public Library. Maxwell, the soon to be former director of the Streator Public Library, comes to the Kewanee Public Library with years of experience. We will be talking with Maxwell soon on WKEI. Meanwhile, the acting director of the Kewanee Public Library, our friend Sara Billiet, joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Thursday to announce the appointment of a new director and talk about upcoming book clubs including the Adult Book Club and the return of the of Science Book Club coming later this month.

Judge Joe McGraw is running for Congress in the Illinois 17th District. Judge McGraw is on the ballot on Tuesday, March 19th, running opposite Scott Crowl for the Republican nomination. The winner between McGraw and Crowl will face off against Congressman Eric Sorensen in November. Judge McGraw joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Friday, March 15th, 2024, to talk about his trips to the southern border, his endorsements by members of law enforcement, and what he would like to see happen if he were elected to Congress in the 17th District.

Mental health is the subject of an Henry County Farm Bureau event happening on Thursday, March 16th. Katie Laleman from the Henry County Farm Bureau joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Wednesday to talk about the event and remind everyone that mental health is a concern in any walk of life, including on the farm. Katie also discussed the March 16th Henry County Farm Bureau Seminar at Lavender Creek Winery featuring Ag Weather expert from Freeze-Notis Weather, Paul Otto, and many more events and initiatives coming up from the Henry County Farm Bureau.
