In January of this year, Paula's Design Team celebrated 50 years in business. The story began in Galva but Paula and Jim have spent most of the last 50 years in business in Kewanee. Dave Clark and Sean talked with Paula and Jim about how the business has evolved over the years, taking on new challenges in expanded services while staying on the cutting edge of the latest trends in hair. It's a constantly evolving industry with new things to learn every year. Paula, Jim and Dave also take time to reminisce about one of Dave's famous stories about the time that Paula helped a local woman recreate the incredible Bo Derek braids from the 1980 movie 10. 50 years in business at Paula's Design Team is the subject of this month's Kewanee Back When.

Wake Up Tri-Counties Kewanee Police Department License Plate Readers
Wednesday Apr 17, 2024
Wednesday Apr 17, 2024
Kewanee Police Chief Stephen Kijanowski and Deputy Chief Michael Minx joined Wake Up Tri-Counties this week to talk about LPR's or License Plate Readers. Several License Plate Readers have been set up in Kewanee. These License Plate Readers are intended as investigative tools and not as tools for enforcing traffic laws. Misconceptions about the use of the cameras have some people questioning why they are being used by Kewanee Police. The Chief and Deputy Chief assure the public that the LPR's are simply in place for the purpose of tracking stolen vehicles, fleeing suspects, or determining if a dangerous or wanted suspect has passed by one of these License Plate Readers. The cameras can be used to create investigative timelines determining if a suspect vehicle passed an LPR at a particular time of day. You can hear the Chief and Deputy Chief explain the use of and the value of License Plate Readers in this Wake Up Tri-Counties interview.
