Dr. Carlos Avila joined Tom Katz on WKEI's "Here’s to Your Health" to discuss family medicine at the Hammond-Henry Medical Group in Kewanee. Dr. Avila brings a wealth of knowledge from his diverse medical background, including his education in El Salvador and residency at Southern Illinois University. His roles have spanned from surgical assistant in San Salvador to lead physician at Unity Point Health Care. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Avila is not only a practicing physician but also a mentor to medical students.

Seth Parlier and Russ Hughes talk basketball and state championships on this week's edition of "The Boiler Shop." Girls bowling, speech, boys wrestling, and middle school boys' wrestling are headed to state this weekend. Boys' varsity basketball will compete in the regional quarterfinals on Monday, February 24th. 

Kewanee Mayor Gary Moore joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to recap the Kewanee City Council Meeting on February 10, 2025. Finance Director James Webb presented the 2024 city audit, assuring no future audit issues after resolving past finance department concerns. Two ordinance amendments passed successfully. Exciting news for the Henry County Humane Society, which received a donation and a 40-year lease for a new shelter on South Fisher Avenue. However, during the meeting, residents voiced concerns over the proposed assistant for City Manager Gary Bradley, given budgetary constraints. Mayor Moore explained the assistant's cost is balanced by six recently unfilled city positions, lightening Bradley's current workload.

Wethersfield Third Grade students, Atlas, Brady, and John, joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to bring "The Good News" about Valentine's Day with their classmates. "The Good News" with Wethersfield students airs on Friday's at 7:50 AM when the kids have school.
