Tuesday Mar 05, 2024
It's been a little while, but Jock Hedblade from Visit Unforgettable Forgottonia is back in the studio to talk about the highly-anticipated unveiling as the Downtown Macomb Square turns into the "World's Largest Monopoly Game" on May 9th, 2024.
It'll be a fun day as the brand-new Monopoly-styled game piece statues are revealed and the new Macombopoly app is launched, allowing everyone to play the game and learn about the popular game and it's inventor, Macomb native Lizzie Magie.
Jock also dishes some early details about this year's Heritage Days, including the musical acts that will be performing during the celebration.
For more information about or how to get involved with the Macombopoly project, call the Macomb Area Convention & Visitors Bureau at (309) 833-1315 or check out their website - visitforgottonia.com.

Available now wherever you stream or rent movies is the new documentary Runaway Radio. This is a fascinating look at the radio business of the 70s and 80s, a wild west time period where big personalities and big promotional budgets were the norm. And there is no better microcosm of radio in the 70s and 80s than Houston, Texas, home to the legendary station, KLOL, an outlaw station that slowly went mainstream but not before it became an iconic part of the Houston community. Through remarkable archive footage and interviews with the people who were part of the history as it was made, director Mike McGuff has opened a time capsule of the 70s and 80s unlike any other. Mike McGuff talked about Runaway Radio with Wake Up Tri-Counties last week.
